The certificate of insurance
A certificate of insurance tells the property that your movers carry liability and cargo cover, and lists the policy limits and effective dates. Managed buildings routinely refuse access without one, and many want to be named as an additional insured — which means the document has to be issued for that specific property, not a generic copy.
Get the requirements in writing from the property manager and send them to us with your booking. The exact wording matters more than people expect, and a COI that names the wrong entity is the same as no COI at all on the morning.
Elevators, docks and hours
Buildings commonly require a freight elevator reservation together with a scheduled loading dock window. Those windows are often four hours long, weekday-only, and inside business hours, which quietly rules out a Saturday move in some communities.
Reserve early. In busy buildings the good slots go weeks ahead, and a move booked for a day when the lift is unavailable has to be rebooked.
