Your quoted hourly rate covers the crew, 26-ft commercial truck, complimentary wardrobe box use, moving blankets, tape, shrink wrap, and full assembly/disassembly. Gas/Travel Fee — Starting at $39. Any applicable travel fee is disclosed before the move. Any special item requirements (like items over 250 lbs or pianos) are reviewed and locked in beforehand so your final bill matches your expectations.
Is there a Double Drive Time charge?expand_more

For moves where the distance from the pickup location to the delivery location is more than 10 miles, SMG Movers & Cleaning LLC applies Double Drive Time (DDT) to the actual driving time between the two locations.

This means we do not charge the entire move twice. Only the actual driving time from pickup to delivery is doubled.

Example: If the distance is more than 10 miles and the actual drive from pickup to delivery takes 30 minutes, an additional 30 minutes is added to the total billable time.

30 minutes actual drive = 60 minutes billable drive time.

If the pickup-to-delivery distance is 10 miles or less, SMG Movers & Cleaning LLC does not apply Double Drive Time.

All applicable travel charges are clearly explained before the move — no hidden fees or surprises on move day.

Are there extra charges for pianos or heavy items over 250 lbs?expand_more
Yes, items requiring specialized rigging, heavy equipment, or extra crew safety protocols — such as upright pianos, baby grand pianos, commercial gun safes, or large marble/stone tables exceeding 250 lbs — carry a dedicated heavy-item fee. We ask about these items during your initial quote request so the fee is completely disclosed before booking.
What is the minimum booking for a move?expand_more

SMG Movers & Cleaning LLC has a 3-hour minimum booking for local moving and labor-only services.

The minimum applies regardless of the size of the job and helps cover the professional crew, scheduling, preparation, equipment, and transportation required to complete your move safely and efficiently.

After the 3-hour minimum, additional time is billed in 15-minute increments, so you are charged only for the additional time actually worked.

We welcome moves of all sizes — from single-item and small moves to apartments, homes, offices, and larger residential moves.
